This offer runs every year.  Apple offer students a rebate of up to £145 (i.e. to the price of an ipod), when you buy both an Apple Mac and Apple iPod together.  You have to claim the rebate after you have purchased the 2 matching items.

The specification on the cheapest MacBook (£644 + free shipping, through Education), despite being rather small, has recently been updated...better than before, but arguably not as good as paying the same price for a PC with better specification.  You are, however, getting a 'free' iPod with this offer.

As with all Apple products you tend to be paying for their good reputation and good design, which for some is worth paying for.
